Children First Groton's Roaming Readers: Free Summer Program

Hello, Children First Groton will be providing a FREE Roaming Readers summer story time program meeting at various locations in Groton, every Monday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m., June 23-August 7, 2025.

When: June 23-August 7, 2025, Mondays and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Where: Locations will rotate so that we can explore Groton all summer long. Upon registration, we will email you the locations!

Food: FREE lunch will be provided to every child under 18 years old, no questions asked.

Meet an Animal Mondays: Storytime, meet an animal from Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, learn about it from one of their trained educators, and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Story Journal Thursdays: Storytime, journal/draw in a personalized Story Journal, and enjoy a picnic lunch.

On Thursdays, CFG will reserve each registered child a set of crayons and a story journal that they can write and/or draw in on Thursdays each week with their peers after story time. Drawing and/or writing in these story journals will allow a creative outlet for children, and peer interaction, while caretakers have the opportunity to meet and socialize with one another.

In addition, lunch for all children under 18 will be provided at no cost by Groton Public Schools' Free Summer Meals program following each of these story times. Caregivers are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch for themselves as they are required to accompany their child(ren) at all times.

We hope to see you each week at Roaming Readers, and please don't forget to bring chairs or a blanket!
